Volunteer GAL Program

Forgotten Children Group

Oconee County

Be the voice of an abused, abandoned or neglected child! Many children have nobody to speak up for them because of the abusive environments they are tangled in. As a Volunteer Guardian ad Litem, you can be that one supportive voice of the child to break the cycle of abuse by helping them find a safe and permanent home.

Next training session starts:
September 20th, 2010.

The Guardian ad Litem Program encourages men and women of all ages, races, education levels and backgrounds to volunteer.

No special skills are needed, just compassion, caring and common sense. You must have a sincere desire to help children, and be willing to make a commitment of 4-6 hours per month. You will be required to pass background and reference checks.

You will then complete the free, 30 hour training program.
Learn more about the training program.

Once you have been accepted into the program as a trained volunteer, we will ask that you accept at least one case, and stay with that child until their case is closed.

See how you can make a difference for an abused child.
